Each year we resolve to look for ways that we can better serve you. Are you aware that your credit union already offers a variety of financial services, and that we are open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Girard or Lake City? Christmas Clubs

If you currently have a Christmas club, your funds will be automatically transferred to your share account October 1st, and your club will start up again for next year with your next deposit.

Please call us if

• you would like a check mailed, or if you would like your funds transferred to another account
• you want to change to your deposit for next year
• you don’t currently have a Christmas club and would like to start one for next year

Christmas clubs are a great way to save for the holidays and can be opened any time. It’s never too late to save!

AFLAC

Your credit union has partnered with AFLAC Insurance, adding another benefit to membership!

AFLAC is the insurance that pays cash benefits to you, when you are off work due to an injury or illness. For more information about AFLAC go to www.aflac.com.

A sales representative will be available at our office on the following days to answer questions, and provide you with the best policy for your needs and budget.

• Thursday - July 23 9:00 – 4:00
• Friday - July 24 2:00 – 6:00
• Saturday - July 25 9:00 – 12:00

If you are unable to come by the office on any of those dates but would like more information, please feel free to return the enclosed response card to the credit union, and our representative will contact you. Thanks.

Office Hours and Holidays

With the growing popularity of direct deposit and the atm/debit card, we found that extended office hours every day were not as essential as they once had been. So in an effort to cut expenses and serve you better, we kept the extended hours on Friday and Saturday only, as they reflected our largest demand. Our new office hours are:

• Monday – Thursday 9:00 – 4:00
• Friday 9:00 – 6:00
• Saturday 9:00 – 12:00

Please note: we will be closed on the following days:

• Saturday - August 8 - Dan Rice Parade
• Monday - September 7 -Labor Day
• Monday - October 12 - Columbus Day
• Wednesday - November 11 - Veterans Day
• Thursday - November 26 - Thanksgiving
• Friday - December 25 - Christmas
• Saturday - December 26 - Christmas
• Friday - January 1 - New Years
• Saturday - January 2 - New Years
• Monday - January 18 - Martin Luther King Jr.

and closing at 1:00 pm on the following days:

• Thursday - December 24 - Christmas Eve
• Thursday - December 31 - New Years Eve

Volunteers Needed

Would you like to become more involved in the operations of your credit union? If so, we want to hear from you. If there are no immediate openings, we will keep your name on file for future reference. All volunteers must pass a background check, and be bondable.

Board of Directors – Meets monthly. Involved in the planning and direction of the credit union, approve policies, evaluate services, review budgets, financial statistics and trends, sets rates, fees and dividends.

Supervisory committee – Meets periodically to conduct annual audit of credit union’s financial and member accounts, print and mail member statements; more time is required during the 1st quarter.

Loan officer – On call as needed to review loan applications that cannot be reviewed by staff due to a conflict of interest; only necessary a few times per year.

If any of these sound interesting to you please send a letter of intent to the credit union.

Dormant (inactive) Accounts

If your account has not had any activity in over 2 years, it is considered dormant. If your account is below $50 and is considered dormant, you will be charged a $5 fee per period. After 5 years of no activity the state demands that we turn over the inactive account. Please do not let this happen to your account!

If your account is dormant, we strongly encourage you to make at least a small deposit or withdrawal to keep your shares active. We have a wide variety of savings, loans, and membership products to choose from. We value your membership and hope to be able to serve you in some way in the future.

Overnight Deposits

For your benefit, we have installed a secure overnight drop slot in the rear door of our office.
Please do not use the mailbox at the front door, as it is not a secure box.

As we realize that not everyone is able to get to our office during our regular business hours, this drop slot will allow you to drop off loan payments, deposits, correspondence, etc., at your convenience.
